Play as Cultural Communion: The Controversial Game of Mahjong

  • Holy Trinity Church 218 South Wabash Avenue Chicago, IL, 60603 United States (map)

What do Crazy Rich Asians (2018), Jewish American women, and the TikTok ban of 2025 have in common? This May, we celebrate AAPI (Asian American Pacific Islander) Heritage Month by exploring the controversial history of mahjong, its current cultural phenomenon, and how we as Christians can thoughtfully participate in that discourse.

Join The Holy Trinity Institute for a Cultural Engagement event with an introduction to Mahjong Lesson (Hong Kong style) taught by Michael Wang of 144 Tiles Mahjong Club. Dinner will be provided. Please register by May 28.
