How do followers of Christ treat people who oppose them?

How do followers of Christ treat people who oppose them?

Passage: Luke 6:27-36

Preacher: Taylor Franchuk

Series: The Mission of God: Called To | Saved From | Live For | Empowered By

Category: Pilsen

Keywords: curse, disciples, enemies, ethics, give, insults, love, mercy, pray, sermon on the mount

Summary:

In the sermon on the plain in Luke, Jesus teaches his disciples about what a life of following him looks like, specifically as it relates to persecution and division. He lays out an ethic that exceeds the ethics of the world by teaching that love, good works, blessings, and prayers should be given freely to our enemies and people who oppose and inconvenience us. This life has eternal significance, but the way to living this way is truly found by imitating God himself and his great mercy to us.
