How can we care for the marginalized?

Passage: Luke 5:27-32

Preacher: Christian Park

Series: The Mission of God: Called To | Saved From | Live For | Empowered By

Category: Pilsen

Keywords: care, chicago, christian, evangelism, freedom, grace, healing, hope, hopeless, jesus, marginalized, mission, outcast, outreach, pharisees, rejection, tax collector

Summary:

How can we care for the marginalized? How can we bring hope to the hopeless? Levi was a tax collector. Tax collectors were grouped with prostitutes and sinners. The were despised by society. They were social outcasts and marginalized. The church needs to do two things: Initiate relationship with the marginalized. Be an advocate for the marginalized. We do all these things knowing that Jesus Christ was marginalized for us. He brought hope back to our hopelessness. We need to share the hope of the Gospel through Jesus Christ as Levi did with his friends.
