Kid City

“Significance of the Family” is one of the 7 core values of Holy Trinity Church. Kid City is our ministry to children created to support this value. We want Kid City to reflect our desire to see the gospel grow in our community and show our commitment to support parents as they provide for the spiritual nurture of their children.

9:30 and 10:30 a.m. Nursery

Blue Line Trains (0-3 years old)

The Blue Line Train is our nursery that is available throughout the duration of the 9:30 and 10:30 ministry hours. We do not view the nursery simply as childcare, but an opportunity to offer even our youngest children a foundation of Jesus. Our ministry continually changes as we do our best to serve our current families. Because we have a solid, growing group of toddlers during the 10:30 hour, we began a new curriculum this year. We are teaching "big picture" themes using "The Big Picture Story Bible" as our guide.  Each week, toddlers hear a lesson, work on memorizing a Bible verse and complete a coloring page.

As soon as a child turns 3 years old, he/she is welcome to join the Green Line at 9:30 a.m. and the Purple or Brown Line at 10:30 a.m.  Any 3 year olds who have difficulty sitting in the service are welcome in the nursery until their Kid City class begins part way through the 10:30 service.

9:30 a.m. Sunday School

Green Line Train (preschool, ages 3–5)

Red Line Train (kindergarten–2nd grade)

Orange Line Train (3rd–5th grade)

Continuing this fall, the Green Line and Red Line Trains will be taught stories from the Old Testament. Because siblings are in both classes we are intentionally aligning the Bible stories to better support parents as they reflect on the lessons with their children throughout the week. In February, the Orange Line Trains completed their study of chronologically working through the Bible to discover God’s redemptive plan ultimately fulfilled through Jesus. They will finish the year studying the Armor of God.  In addition to a Bible lesson, children will memorize Scripture, do an activity/craft, enjoy a snack and hear a “Missions Moment”, which is an update about a Global Ministry Partner supported by Holy Trinity Church. Parents can drop their children off at the classroom at 9:30 a.m. and pick them up at 10:15 a.m. Follow the colored signs and flags to find your child's classroom!

10:30 a.m. Worship Service

Purple Line and Brown Line Trains (ages 3–2nd grade)

During the 10:30 service, children ages 3 through 2nd grade will be dismissed just prior to the sermon. Children will be asked to walk to the back of the sanctuary and meet their teacher who will escort them to the classroom. Parents can pick up their children from the classroom when the service ends. The Purple and Brown Line Trains are multi-age classrooms. Siblings stay together. First-time visitors are welcome to attend either class. This year the Purple and Brown Line Trains will study "Jesus, What A Savior" written by Jill Nelson and published by Children Desiring God. Because God's Word is central to all we do, we will focus even harder on encouraging children to bring a Bible to church and memorize Scripture.

Kid Connect Hand-out (3rd–5th grade)

During the 10:30 service, a weekly handout called “Kid Connect” is available at the back of the sanctuary for children ages 3rd–5th grade. Kid Connect was created for older children who are transitioning from the Purple and Brown Line Trains. It is our hope to engage these children more intentionally with aspects of the entire service and offer a learning aid appropriate for their age. It is also an opportunity for children to ask questions and personally apply what is being learned.
