Introducing Neopolis and Paul Ogalo

Posted on

Neopolis is a city-facing, multi-ethnic and global family of churches, committed to: Preaching to the glory of God, Pastoring to the glory of God, Planting to the glory of God in order to Influence our world for Christ

The year 2017, which has been a very exciting year for Neopolis, is about to get better in a few weeks.

In 2012 the Holy Trinity Church leaders opted to start a network and family of churches in order to expand gospel outreach to and through partnerships locally, nationally and globally. Since that time Holy Trinity Fellowship/Neopolis has planted a church in Nairobi and partnered with an existing church in Havana, Cuba to bolster their gospel ministry efforts in Cuba. One of the milestones of this year is that in April, Neopolis moved from under the umbrella of Holy Trinity Church and became its own separate ministry—similar to other ministries that the church has launched (The Charles Simeon Trust, Hope for Chicago and Chicago Partnership for Church Planting).

In August 2015, a team from Holy Trinity Church was on the ground in Mathare, Nairobi, one of the larger slum areas in the city, to launch Holy Trinity Church/Mathare. This month the church celebrates its second anniversary!

In July of 2014, Holy Trinity Church welcomed Pastor Paul Ogalo, the church-planting pastor in Nairobi. At that time he was able to get acquainted with the HTC family and vice versa. Now we are pleased and excited that Paul will be returning to Chicago (August 26 – September 4)—and his wife Abigail will be traveling with him! One of our HTC couples will be hosting them and their schedule will be full, including two church services and occasions for engagement with HTC leaders and others. Make sure that you take the opportunity to make them feel at home at HTC and in Chicago.

In addition to the Ogalo visit, Neopolis will also welcome Dr. John Jusu to Chicago later this month. Dr. Jusu is a respected Christian leader in Africa and elsewhere. He will assist Neopolis in expanding our reach in East Africa by helping to identify church planters and by providing leadership and coaching after churches are planted.

Join us in thanksgiving to the Lord for the gains of this year thus far. While we are making progress on several fronts, the ministry is also ripe for our prayers. Pray for sufficient funding for this year’s initiatives; for a meaningful board meeting on August 31; for Neopolis leaders as they identify additional church planters in Africa; and for the Chicago visits of the Ogalos and Dr. Jusu. Thank you for standing with us and for your prayers!
